COMMUNE Studios is Newtown's premier Photography, Film and Event hire space. Just off King Street, the Studios are located within the iconic Lips building.
We boast one of Sydney's largest photographic cyclorama egg infinity walls, an ideal blank canvas for a multitude of commercial film, car and photo shoots plus mid to large sized events.
EQUIPMENT HIRE
We can provide lighting, grip & camera equipment hire upon request.
We can also provide AV (projectors, speakers, staging), seating and any other hire needs.
ONSITE & FREE PARKING
We have secure undercover parking for 2-3 cars as well as free all day parking on the surrounding streets outside. Great for unloading equipment from vans or secure parking for client's/talent's cars.

HIRE FEES
There are two studios to choose from.
Discounts for students and COMMUNE Members.
Rates below:
MID STUDIO (Half space)
Half Day
8am - 12 noon or 1pm - 5pm
$250 + GST
Full Day
8am - 5pm
$500 + GST
Extra hours charged $80 + GST.

8am - 12 noon or 1pm - 5pm
$450 + GST
+ 3 PHASE POWER + REPAINT OF CYC FLOOR
Full Day
8am - 5pm
$800 + GST
+ 3 PHASE POWER + REPAINT OF CYC FLOOR
Extra hours charged $100 + GST.
All bookings attract a $500 security deposit to cover repaint, cleaning or damage if needed.
Repaint & clean charge (if needed) = $250
3 Phase Power = $10 per hour

EVENT SPACE
The Studios can also be booked for events, gallery exhibitions, workshops and mid to large sized functions. The massive cyc wall space inside is the perfect blank canvas for your next event of up to 200 people. Perfect for mid-large sized events, workshops, gallery exhibitions, yoga classes, markets, theatre performances and community events. Whatever you can think of, we'll help you make it happen*
*We don't hire for private parties at this stage (21sts, 40ths, hen's nights, receptions etc).
